Gratitude Prayers: A Grateful Reminder Bookmark and Share

Have you asked yourself what you were thankful for today? If you are like most people, you would think that nothing really big happened for you to be thankful for; quite contrarily, this day was like any other, with more disappointments than good things. Quite possibly, you think this way because you only took into account that bad things that happened in this day and just took the good things for granted. Like, having three meals a day, or being able to afford to brush your teeth in the morning, or to just simply be alive to face a new day with infinite possibilities.

It's about time that people from all over start counting their blessings more. A gratitude prayer at the start and end of your day is all you need to put things in perspective.

Gratitude Prayers

First, begin by giving thanks for the people around you. It may seem like family can be a burden sometimes, but these people are the ones who will love you unconditionally no matter what you do. Be thankful to God for giving them and continually giving them to you and their contributions to your life, and their safety throughout the day as well.

You may also pray about the people that guide you in life; leaders you look up to, teachers who point you in the right direction. Be thankful that you have such people to help you through the daily struggles, and count each of them as a blessing in your life.

If you are able to read this, then be thankful as well that your body is in working condition. Some people do not have this luxury of a healthy body and a literate mind, and remember to pray for them as well. Pray for the people that do not have the blessings that you have right now, and be thankful about what you have.

And lastly, always be thankful that you are alive and are now living on this wonderful earth. In every day that you live, you will encounter both beautiful, happy things, as well as the negative. But do not count all the wrongs. Remember that as long as you are alive, you should be thankful, and by having the opportunity to live, you are already a step closer to correcting any mistakes you have done or was done to you. Always count the good, and give a gratitude prayer daily to remind yourself that God has always provided you with all that you will ever need; your life and His love.
